Identity: Who You Are

I think I want to wrap up on the question of identity...at least the question of Who am I? Maybe I'll continue more on how to be who we are. But I think I've ranted long enough about finding out who you are. It's really pretty simple--just not something you can put in a box. You are who you are and you are growing every day.

We are defined by our Heavenly Father. Not by our friends, our clothes, our money, our knowledge, or our skills. Our breath, our life, our name, comes from our Creator. It is He who molds our character. It is He who gives us our vision. And it is in Him that we find acceptance.

Our goal is to conform to His image--to be who He made us to be. It's not something that occurs all at one time. It is a day by day struggle. It is a process of growing. Like a tree, it takes time before the fruit that reveals our identity matures. But who we are started with the seed that God planted.

So, I'll leave you with this advice. Ask yourself, How can I let God's light shine through me today? How can I use my talents and my ambitions to serve my Creator today? How can I grow today? Trust God that He will bring you to where you are supposed to be. He is the potter, we are the clay. Learn to be faithful with what He has given you today and He will take care of the rest. And remember--He is your Father. He chose you. He loves you. And He will never ever forsake you. Who are you? You are His.
